  1. My favourite time at camp was probably building sandcastles and swimming at Pilot Bay. One thing that I would change is that the swim at the hot pools was longer.

  3. Sensing autumn

    On dark, windy autumn mornings,

My feet feel numb as I walk slowly across the watery grass,

My nose smells hot toast straight from the toaster,

My legs feel as if they’re going to fall off as I have goose bumps all over,

My ears hear “crunch” I stomp thickly on a brown, fallen leaf,

My eyes see bare trees and frost on the grass, melting as the temperature changes,

My hands feel stiff as I quickly wipe water drops off the car trying…

My mouth tastes burning milo in the morning with breakfast,

My mind thinks autumns as bad as winter,

    That summer went too fast.

  4. Sensing autumn

    On cold, wet autumn mornings,

My feet feel warm in my ugg boots,

My nose smells breakfast cooking, “Mmmnn” pork soup,

My legs feel chilly in school shorts, but heated in warm pants,

My ears hear ”crunch” while I eat my soup with a pork bone,

My eyes see wind blowing, the leaves freezing

My hands feel cold like ice in a freezer,

    My mouth tastes roasted chicken,

My mind thinks summer will never come back,

    That summer takes its time.

  5. Why are pukekos coloured black and blue?

Hi let me tell you the most weirdest story of your LIFE!!! So once upon a time there lived a pukeko who was all white!!! Then a man walked over and painted his feathers!!! Black and blue DON DON DON oh and he also painted his beak as well, he painted it orange. The next day he walked down the street the street was called Pukeko Street so he was walking down and the other pukeko thought it was flash so they changed too. They all drove down to the lovely beach and had a beautiful BBQ they had corn, steak of course cooked worms so yum (there actually were really yuck)

  6. Pink Flamingos?
It all started long long ago when flamingo’s were nothing but plain white
long legged creatures to laugh at. All the lions and zebras even mice
would laugh at a flamingo but then one bright brained flamingo called Zinga sprouted another idea that all the others thought was stupid and a waste of time. Zinga loved his
idea just like his others and went through with it. Zinga told his mother that all the other animals have colour but the flamingo and that’s why the other animals laugh
at our kind so I think we should get a colour, then Zinga thought how do we get a colour, how do the others get a colour?

One night he went to bed under a pink Jijalo tree and that very night
it was so hot all the flowers from pink Jijalo melted. “Splash
splash” Zinga woke to see pink droplets of flowers trickle
down the green leaves of the Jijalo Zinga looked down at his tummy
it was pink. Zinga couldn’t believe his eyes he screamed at the top of
his lungs “I’m pink, I’m pink”, no-one said anything. Zinga had always
tried experiments and they never worked this one did. No-one believed him. Zinga was furious he got up and showed every flamingo. They all saw he was pink everyone was astonished and the zebras, lions, and mice were jealous but the flamingos were proud “show me, show me” the flamingos cried. Zinga spoke of nothing but pink Jijalo. the flamingos looked around puzzeld all the pink flowers of the jijalo’s were melted, all the flamingos rushed to the trees every single flamingo turned pink and the generations past and all the flamingos where born like their mothers and fathers.

Even though the genius flamingo isn’t here today he still lives in the pink feathers of each pink flamingo!
